About us and how we started...
Alumina didn’t begin as a business idea—it began in our workshop. While building aluminium outdoor roofs, we were always left with high quality material with no where to go. Strong, perfectly good pieces of material that usually end up forgotten in a corner or thrown away. It never felt right to waste them.
One day we started experimenting, shaping a few of those leftover pieces into outdoor chairs for our own patio. What began as a practical solution slowly turned into something we genuinely enjoyed creating. Each piece had character, and each chair felt like giving new life to material that would otherwise be discarded.
Over time, that small side project grew into Alumina. The same mindset still guides us today: thoughtful design, careful craftsmanship, and making the most of what we already have. By turning what was once waste into durable outdoor furniture, we try to create something that is not only beautiful and long-lasting, but also more responsible in the way it’s made.
